the last time we had a date night was valentine's day. date night is very rare for us because we don't have a babysitter and we don't have any of our families around to help out.
we went to Dan Murphy's last weekend and Jim stocked up the home cellar with mostly nice reds and a few whites too. he was eager to try out the new pinot gris he bought so he suggested that we have seafood for dinner this weekend. some salmon sashimi, oysters, cooked prawns and a nice bottle of wine.
normally boo doesn't go to bed till about 8 so he's often the reason we rush through dinner. he is often very clingy around dinner time which means we can't really enjoy our meals. so tonight, we decided to put him to bed earlier at 7:30 and i'm so glad we did. between the both of us, we finished the bottle of pinot gris, we sat around and chatted about boo, about our future and just about anything. it was nice. i can't remember when were able to do this and i think we should do it more often.
